John,

The images of the K+E Polyphase No4053-3 that I have been able to find are
considerably different each from one another (and the image quality too poor
to make a comparison to the one in the film). Do you have picture of one
that is similar to the one in the film?

I still think the slide rule in the film is extremely similar to the Post
Universal 1452 & Hughes Owens / Geotec Universal 341 3215, in particular the
1452W of which there is a picture on Greg's Slide Rules at:

http://sliderule.ozmanor.com/rules/images/0097-post1452w-01-front.jpg

As well as having right scales and guagemarks, this rule has the right
cursor, and the wide gap between the top of the A scale and the top of the
rule is right too. What do you think?

By the way, in your initial post on this subject you mentioned two slide
rules in the film. I count three!

Regards,
Neil.

Hello Everyone
I have found that the slide rule in the film Apollo 13, from the snap I
took, looks identical to a K&E Polyphase No4053-3. The scale layout is
the same
A/B CI C/D K but in the Polyphase there is a line between the D and K
scale and there is a little plastic top and bottom of the cursor (the one
in the
film is all metal). Does any of this point any K&E specialists in the
right
direction?

all the best John St Clair
(in London)
