On pages 86 and 87 of the June, 2016 Popular Mechanics magazine is described a
little episode in which a man was taking a college exam with a cheap (implied)
wooden slide rule and the slide froze up. He finished the exam using longhand
calculations and immediately thereafter purchased a better slide rule.
