Hi Guys-

This certainly is an interesting thread. If I remember correctly, in
Craig's "Dragnet" episode Joe and Bill were investigating a pyramid scheme.
The person behind the scheme stated the number of "generations" that would
have to evolve from a given participant's operation for him to get rich.
The mathematician demonstrated that a patrticipant's little empire would
exceed the population of the US for him to get rich, as promised.

A few weeks back I saw something called "First Man Into Space," late fifties
vintage. The first man into space was to havve been a Naval aviator-a
Lieutenant-flying a rocket plane dropped from a bomber. The project was run
by the pilot's brother-a Commander. I enjoyed the all-Navy operation. In
one scene one of the Naval officers in the project picked up and played with
his slide rule. Didn't catch the model, butr it was a nice, solid-body
type. I like to think that it was a Darmstadt or an Electro. And don't ask
me how the movie turned out, I couldn't make myself stick with it.

Jim
